I was 19 and in the second semester of my sophomore year of college. Weird things started happening, numbness in my hands and side, tingling like they were asleep but never “woke up”. My college nurses tried to soothe me, but I had the internet, all signs pointed to one thing- MS.
After first, second, and third doctors opinions, they have pretty much confirmed it. I have struggled immensely with the fact that I may one day lose vision, ability to walk, use my hands, think clearly, and eventually die. These are the worst case senario. They may never happen.
I still have hope. There are people out there doing research and working to stop the progression of this disease. I’m hoping that in the next few years we can find a cure for MS. To keep it from making anyone else’s life more difficult.
So until I can’t ride anymore, I’ll be doing fundraisers like this. For me, and for those who have it worse than me. I haven’t lost any quality of life yet, and I may never, but I’d like to know for sure that me and anyone else with this disease don’t ever have to face that.
Please donate so we can help stop this. There have been great strides made in the last few years in terms of treatment, but we’re still miles away from a cure. Even if it’s only $5, it still helps in the long run.
Please guys, I’m only trying to raise $100. This is really important because it’s my quality of life at stake here… I might be fine now but I could wake up any day and not be. I will never know if that is going to be tomorrow or 20 years. I just want to be able to know that when it does happen, there is some treatment out there for me that will work. Or even better, a cure that will work before it gets to that point.

Seriously though, $5 from 20 people isn’t asking a lot. But it really adds up to a lot.
